Herbicide Human Health Risks

Doing business in an area with such beautiful and clean lakes makes us even more aware of the responsibility we have as the leading Lawn & Landscape company in the area. With lots of customers on Lake Francis, Lake Tetonka, Lake Elysian, Rays Lake, Lake Sakatah and more, we take the use of herbicides, pesticides, and insecticides that can and do drain into our lakes seriously.  Its why we don’t apply harmful chemicals to our properties & also why we were the First company in Minnesota to use Environmentally Friendly Propane mowers.  Below is just a short snippet on the chemical that major lawn spraying companies use and how it really affects us.

Lawn herbicides such as dicamba, glyphosate and dicholorophenoxyacedtic acid can cause a range of human health issues.  Symptoms such as running noses and watery eyes seem mild, compared to disruptions in the human endocrine system, reduced sperm counts and malformations, miscarriages, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and soft tissue cancers.  Dicholorophenoxyacedtic acid, which is the most commonly used herbicide in the world and in production for over 50 years, was often co-formulated with dioxin-contaminated chemicals.  Dioxin is considered the deadliest man-made chemical in existence, and causes birth defects, suppressed immune systems, diabetes, heart disease and cancers.
