Lake Francis

Lake Francis is a Beautiful and unique hidden gem located in Elysian MN.  It’s spring fed & has a Top DNR Rating for Southern MN Lake Region for its cleanliness.

On any given day you can enjoy: Great fishing, canoeing, paddle-boarding, kayaking, water-sports, pontoon cruising, water skiing, sunset cruises, wake-boarding, or just sit back and watch all the wildlife Lake Francis has to offer.  Lake Francis is the perfect Lake to find peace and refuge from your busy life.

This lake is 927 acres in size. It is approximately 60 feet deep at its deepest point. Fishing population information: Excellent bass and northern populations; also walleye, buluegill, and crappie; DNR installed fish trap near outlet designed to limit carp and other rough fish from gaining entry to the Lake.

4th Of July Celebration

Elysian 4th of July celebration is one of the biggest Independence Day celebrations in southern Minnesota.  During the celebration they have a Boat Parade & fireworks over Lake Francis, which is a sight to see. http://www.elysianmn.com/our-community.html

Lake Francis Ice Fishing Contest

The 1st Sunday in February. Ice anglers are invited to to Lake Francis to compete for cash and merchandise prizes. All who enter are treated to Elysian’s famous “Hunter’s Stew”! This annual event is sponsored by the Elysian American Legion Post 311.
